CD Monkayak Hiberus (CDMH) began its journey in 2010 as a private non-profit association with the sole objective of promoting and practicing physical-sports activities. With the development of the Ebro riverbanks during Expo 2008, a series of facilities belonging to different sports federations were created, leading to the establishment of new nautical clubs in Zaragoza. One of these was the Monkayak Hiberus Elementary Sports Club, which started with 6 members and, within a few years, surpassed 170 members. It began with two sports sections: Mountaineering and Canoeing.
Its aim is to promote the safe practice of outdoor sports for its members, taking advantage of all the scenic richness that the Aragón River offers from north to south. From the perspective of nautical activities, they seek to encompass all possible interpretations, encouraging and promoting participation from the youngest to the oldest ages. The river provides a privileged training location for all those who enjoy natural environment activities as a healthy escape to relieve the pace and stress of daily life.

Out of federal necessity, in 2012, they launched a Sports School aimed at encouraging the healthy use of free time and leisure among young people. Starting in 2018 with other nautical activities, they now offer Stand Up Paddle training, promoting fun and the acquisition of basic skills, patterns, and a love for movement among the youngest. Additionally, bonds of help and collaboration are created between the older and younger members. The club also accommodates veterans, who have the ability to improve daily and, of course, achieve sporting success for those seeking more competitive goals.Monkayak Hiberus is a sports project that began including people with disabilities in sports, thanks to the knowledge of its staff, who found great enthusiasts of nautical activities within this target group. All this growth over the years is not by chance. It follows a Strategic Plan, which defined the club's main lines of action to grow in the desired direction and not let its sports philosophy drift.
